Rain in the morning and inside recess is no problem at all. Northside students found a few ways to have a lot of fun. They started by creating a very long perfectly quiet "snake" line and then went into the gym to burn off some energy and have a lot of fun in the process.
Our school district is proud to recognize Mr. Randy Bormann, who was recently presented with a Maple Leaf Medallion by Superintendent Dr. Adam Brumbaugh.
As Director of Maintenance, Bormann was instrumental in ensuring the HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) systems throughout our buildings continued to run during the record-setting heat at the beginning of this school year, allowing us to keep students in the classroom.
Now in his 21st year with District 228, Randy has overseen approximately $45 million in projects that have improved our schools, including the recent construction of the Career and Technical Education Center at GHS. Congrats on this long overdue honor, Randy, and thank you for your steadfast commitment to Teach-Learn-Care.
The power of perseverance. #MondayMotivation
Ms. Dodge's 3rd grade class worked on making their own beaded number lines that they can use in math throughout the year. They started using them right away to build their understanding of rounding to the nearest 10! Lots of fun learning Math.
We honor and recognize the many contributions workers have made to our nation's strength, prosperity and well-being. Happy Labor Day!

Special thanks to Pinks for keeping our kids safe by practicing our bus safety drill today. Kindergarten students had a blast learning about how to be safe on the bus.
We never stop learning. #MondayMotivation
Mrs. Kida's life skills class is having a great time in art. Students are using their creative brains and loving every minute of it.

How will you make a difference this week? #MondayMotivation
It was a fantastic first week of school at Northside Elementary School. Students had a great time meeting their teachers, seeing their friends again, and of course trying out the new playground equipment and gaga ball pit. Special thanks to everyone who made those happen!!!
Please join us in giving a warm welcome to Amber Mattly, our new life skills teacher at Northside Elementary. Mattly attended Western Illinois University and she brings 23 years of experience in teaching students with behavior disorders.
"I absolutely love teaching and look forward to the small-town setting Geneseo has to offer,” notes Mattly. “I am heading in a new exciting direction in teaching life skills and can't wait to see what I can learn from my students!"
