Congratulations to our September Southwest Learning Ticket recipients! These students were recognized for showing hard work, kindness, and a love of learning. We are so proud of you!

At Millikin, some of our older students are serving as Math Buddies to some of our younger students. Once a week the older students play a math game with the younger students to help them practice what they are learning in class. Both levels of students benefit from this weekly time together!

The Sound of Geneseo performed at the Normal Marching Band Invitational on Saturday and earned the title of Overall Grand Champion!
The band also received 1st Place in Class 4A and swept all caption awards, including Best Percussion, Best Guard/Auxiliary, and Best Winds.
We are very proud of these student musicians and their outstanding accomplishments. Please join us in congratulating them!

Bookfair week is always one of the best times of the year for students big and small. Thank you so much Northside PTA for making sure every student gets a book, to all our volunteers, and to every family who came to our Family Reading Night. It was so much fun!!!

Here's a pic review of another busy week at GMS including 6th grade students in Mrs. George's ELA Ingenuity classes building towers, and social studies classes making cuneiform tablets, 8th grade football, and GHS FFA officers visiting our GMS AG Club students.

The Maple Leaf Classic kicked off with our own GMS Bands taking the field. They played the National Anthem, GMS Fight Song, Crazy Train, and Timber. What a phenomenal start to what will be a fantastic day at the annual Marching Band Classic.

Friday Night Lights! Good victory over Rock Island!

It was a packed week of learning combined with some fun for GMS students and staff including "woosh bottle" demonstrations in 8th grade science classes, "Kung Fu" order of operations in 6th grade math classes, and our 8th grade band performing with the GHS marching band last week.
And all with a heavy dose of "6's" and "7's" involved...just ask our GMS students.

We remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and honor the heroes who responded with courage and compassion.

From Friday Night Football, to Tuesday night Volleyball, our students in the GMS Machine are rockin and rollin.

Structured Support at Northside is having fun getting back into the swing of things. Spray bottle art and popsicle painting outside with Mrs. Landry and establishing morning classroom routine with Mrs. Brown and classmates. Exciting start to the school year at Northside.

Congratulations to all of our GMS golfers on a truly phenomenal season! 3 boys and 2 girls made it to IESA Sectionals this week, each golfing strong 18-hole rounds, on tough courses, and against top-level competition. Here's some pics of our IESA Sectional golfers in action.
