First grade students recently celebrated the 100th day of school by dressing up and a variety of activities. Meanwhile, 5th grade celebrated 1000 day! They have been in school since the beginning of Kindergarten for 1000 days!
Our second Family Preschool Night was a huge success. Thank you to everyone who came out to learn more about Conscious Discipline and for our Preschool team for putting on a great night. Lots of fun and learning took place.
Sheila Puls, Megan VerStraete and Melanie Rice were recently awarded Maple Leaf Medallions by Dr. Brumbaugh for their efforts in setting up special education students with various opportunities outside of the classroom. It is a great day for Geneseo wrestling as both the boys and girls teams competed in the IHSA Individual Sectional. Eight wrestlers qualified for the IHSA Individual State tournament!

Congratulations to Sully Jackson, a Millikin 5th grader who was recognized at Thursday's Board of Education meeting and awarded a Maple Leaf Medallion for his efforts in mentoring a fellow student.
"Sully was not afraid to ask hard questions or explain how students should behave at Millikin," explained Millikin Principal Philip Moe. "Sully played a huge role in helping this student turn things around."

Nathan O'Dell has been named the Blackhawk Region IPA Middle School Principal of the Year, while Brooke Emmerson was selected as the Blackhawk Region IPA Assistant Principal of the Year! GMS 8th grade students in FACS classes with Mrs. Strohm had a fantastic fajita Friday as they were FINALLY able to have an uninterrupted week to learn and prepare for a lab activity. It smelled wonderful too!!!
Punxsutawney Phil did not see his shadow this morning, so Miss O'Brien's fourth graders colored giant groundhogs to celebrate Spring being on its way!!
GMS Bands kickoff a Friday evening of fun and sound at this year's Rehears-a-thon. Clinicians met up with each instrument section to provide powerful musical instruction. The kids also played games and ate a lot of food!
GMS Ag Club members learned lots about agriculture class offerings, FFA activities, and individual experiences from GHS agriculture teacher, Mrs. Wetzell, and GHS students, Kylie Maertens, Austin Pearce, and Ayden Kane. They shared valuable insights with our students and we greatly appreciate them visiting and answering questions too.
7th graders traveled to Circa21 today to take part in a theatre workshop and then view the play "Murder on the Orient Express." After studying plot, and reading multiple novels and plays this year, our 7th graders really enjoyed this unique local experience!
Congrats to our GHS Wednesday Difference Makers. These students were recognized for having a positive influence.
Northside students absolutely love morning Math Club time. A great way to get the brains moving and have a lot of fun doing so.
