U.S. Congressman Darin LaHood visited Geneseo Middle School to celebrate the successful completion of our Constitution Unit in 8th grade U.S. History. Mr. Mitchell's and Mr. McAvoy's students joined our 16th District Congressman for about 40 minutes of inspiration and Q&A.

Join us in our annual GMS Grounds Day on Saturday, May 3, from 9 am - noon. We will be beautifying the GMS grounds areas and walking track, cleaning up trash, pulling weeds and laying mulch. This takes a team effort and we need you and your family here to help out. Come for the whole time, or for just an hour. Donuts, pizza, water and snacks will be provided for anyone who helps out.
*If you are able to attend, please bring gloves, rakes, shovels, and wheelbarrow(s) if you have them. Make sure to label or tag them with your last name.

More than 20 businesses and community groups took part in our annual career fair at the middle school on Wednesday. Students, staff, and business reps came together for a career exploration event as part of our College and Career Readiness Program. To all our volunteers, thank you!
The annual GMS Jump Rope for Heart challenge raised over $7,000 for the American Heart Association this year. Kids who raised a certain amount of funds were rewarded today with a trip to the Arcadia bowling alley with Mr. Reed. Another example of Teach Learn Care at GMS!

GMS 8th grader, Faith Kuster, is now a Red Cross Junior Volunteer through the Services to the Armed Forces division. Sunday, she attended an Army Nation Guard pre-deployment event in Springfield with her dog Athena, providing comfort and care to the soldiers and their families.

Northside students raised almost 400 dollars for the Special Olympics through the Polar Plunge. They were very excited to see Miss Dodge and Mrs. Landry take the plunge for a great cause.
