The Seth Ernst Memorial Soccer Slam is an annual, indoor soccer tournament. The tournament committee intends to grow and enhance the soccer experience for players and fans at all levels. GHS Softball is thrilled to invite girls in 1st through 8th grades to join them for two days of softball fun and skill-building January 2 and 3, 2025 at the Geneseo Foundation Activity Center (GFAC). The Geneseo Police Department will be hosting its annual Christmas toy drive from December 1-9. Drop off new and unwrapped gifts (ages kindergarten to 12th grade) at the police department, Geneseo Middle School, or Reap & Sow Nutrition. In honor of Veterans Day, Geneseo High School will host an assembly on November 11 at 10 a.m. for local vets and Aisle of Flag volunteers. Honorees and their families are invited to arrive at 9:40 a.m. for coffee and drinks and enter through the Performing Arts Center doors. We are thrilled to announce that four talented students from our high school choir program have qualified for the prestigious American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) National Honor Conference and Choir in Dallas, Texas! These exceptional young musicians, demonstrated outstanding skill during the audition process, earning them a place among the nation’s finest high school singers. Their hard work and commitment to excellence not only reflect their individual talents but also showcase the strength of our choir program. We are proud of their achievements and look forward to seeing them shine on this national stage!


GHS held its "Student of the Quarter" celebration on Friday morning. Staff members nominated students "who make their day brighter" and joined those students and their parents/guardians for a special recognition breakfast.









National Drug Take Back Day: Did you know that prescription drugs thrown in the trash can be retrieved to be abused or illegally sold? Stop by the Geneseo Police Department on October 26 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. to drop off unwanted or expired medications, pills, patches, vaping devices and cartridges. Tonight is the final evening rehearsal for the High School Marching Band. They will finish their season on Saturday at the University of Illinois Marching Band Championships. The band will be competing in class 3A against Mahomet Seymour, University High School (Normal), East Peoria High School and Highland High School. On Thursday at Bob Reade Field, they will run for the final time their show “Rapunzel” at 7:45 p.m. There are 14 seniors this year who will be signing their “TSOG” posters afterwards!


GHS will again host a Dance Marathon this year. Over the years, our students have raised more than $80,000 for the Stead Family Children's Hospital in Iowa City and they are excited to start fundraising again. They have partnered with Texas Roadhouse in Davenport for a give back night on Monday, October 28 from 3-10 p.m. Simply print the attached image and present it with your check and 10% of your total food purchases will be donated to Dance Marathon.
