"On the Same Page," a community-wide reading project sponsored annually by GMS, will host a community potluck on Tuesday, April 8 at the middle school. This year’s community-wide read is Lasagna Means I Love You by Kate O’Shaughnessy. Make your favorite family recipes and bring them to share with other families who attend. (Please bring a copy of your recipe so people with allergies can make informed dining decisions). The GMS Book Fair will also be open that evening. Learn more: https://gcsdstaff.org/onthesamepage/

GMS recently hosted guest speaker Matt Kendziera with the organization "Rachel's Challenge" during assemblies for each grade level. He shared the tragic story of Rachel Scott and the message of hope as her parents and siblings promised to honor her legacy of creating a culture of kindness and compassion among teenagers. The message challenged students to create a chain reaction of kindness. Many of I ur GMS students were inspired to keep Rachel's Challenge moving and pledged to be kind to their classmates and others throughout the community by signing our own Challenge banner.
